KIVVO INFORMATION

Fees & Charges

This page explains the fees and charges that apply when you use Kivvo. We keep this page up to date as our pricing evolves.

The short version

Kivvo is free to use for saving toward goals. You do not need to pay Kivvo+ to save.

A contribution fee applies to scheduled contributions. This fee is how Kivvo makes money on the savings side.

Kivvo+ is an optional paid membership. It unlocks additional features, including access to cashback.

Cashback is currently limited to Kivvo+ members and to users who contribute at or above our minimum monthly threshold. It is not available to all users yet.

We do not charge fees for the following: creating goals, editing goals, deleting goals, downloading your data, or submitting support tickets.

All fees are displayed before you confirm any payment. You'll always see what you're paying.

Kivvo is registered for GST. Where GST applies, it's included in the displayed price.

Contribution fee

When you make a scheduled contribution toward a goal, Kivvo charges a contribution fee. This fee is taken from the contribution amount at the time the payment is processed. The rest of your contribution goes toward your goal.

The contribution fee is made up of:

A flat fee per contribution, and

A percentage of the contribution amount

The exact amounts are shown to you before you confirm a contribution and are set out below.

Current contribution fee

ComponentAmount
Flat fee per contributionNZD $2.00
Percentage of contribution8%
Maximum fee per contributionNZD $15.00

These fees are current as of October 2026 and may change. We'll notify you in advance of any change that affects your scheduled contributions.

Worked example: If you make a $100 contribution:

Flat fee: $2.00

Percentage fee: 8% of $100 = $8.00

Total fee: $10.00

Amount toward your goal: $90.00

Worked example: If you make a $300 contribution:

Flat fee: $2.00

Percentage fee: 8% of $300 = $24.00

Total fee before cap: $26.00

Capped fee: $15.00

Amount toward your goal: $285.00

The fee is capped so that larger contributions aren't disproportionately expensive.

Minimum contribution amounts

To keep contributions meaningful and processing efficient, Kivvo enforces minimum contribution amounts depending on your schedule:

Contribution scheduleMinimum per contribution
WeeklyNZD $50.00
Bi-weekly (every two weeks)NZD $100.00
MonthlyNZD $200.00
One-offNZD $10.00

These minimums apply per contribution. They are separate from any eligibility thresholds that apply to specific features (such as cashback).

Kivvo+

Kivvo+ is an optional paid membership. It is not required to save with Kivvo.

Kivvo+ unlocks additional features, which may include cashback eligibility, additional analytics, and other benefits as they are introduced. The exact feature set may change as the product develops.

Kivvo+ pricing

PlanPrice
MonthlyNZD $9.99 per month
AnnualNZD $99.00 per year

Annual pricing offers a saving compared to paying monthly.

Kivvo+ subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and your membership will remain active until the end of the period you've already paid for.

These prices are current as of October 2026 and may change. We'll notify you in advance of any change.

Cashback

Cashback is a feature that rewards consistent saving. Cashback is currently limited to Kivvo+ members and to users who contribute at or above our minimum monthly threshold. It is not available to all users yet.

Cashback is calculated based on the fees you've paid over a payout period and is credited subject to meeting the eligibility requirements, including:

Holding an active Kivvo+ subscription or contributing at or above the required minimum monthly threshold,

Maintaining your contribution streak for the payout period, and

Meeting any other eligibility criteria shown in your Kivvo Payouts page.

You can see your current cashback eligibility and progress in your account. Kivvo does not charge any fee on cashback you receive.

If and when cashback becomes available to a wider group of users, we'll update this page.

What we don't charge for

Kivvo does not charge fees for:

Creating, editing, pausing, or deleting savings goals

Viewing your contribution history

Downloading your account or contribution data (CSV or PDF)

Submitting support tickets

Viewing your Kivvo Payouts page

If we ever introduce a fee for something that is currently free, we'll tell you before it applies.

Failed payments

If a scheduled contribution fails — for example, because a card is declined or a bank mandate is cancelled — Kivvo does not charge a fee for the failed payment itself.

However, the contribution still needs to be made to keep your goals on track. Depending on your settings, Kivvo may retry a failed payment, and any retry that succeeds will be charged the normal contribution fee for that contribution.

Repeated failed payments may result in your contribution schedule being paused and any streak-based eligibility being affected.

Refunds of fees

Contribution fees are generally non-refundable, because they are charged in exchange for a service that has been provided — the processing of your contribution.

If you believe a fee has been charged in error, or if you have a concern about a fee, you can raise it through our Complaints Policy or by submitting a support ticket via the Support page. We'll look at every case in good faith.

Where a refund is given, it will be processed to the payment method used for the original charge, or to your Kivvo account balance if you prefer.

GST

Kivvo is registered for GST in New Zealand. Where GST applies to a fee or subscription, it is included in the displayed price. You don't pay additional GST on top of the price shown.

If you're a business user and require a GST invoice, that can be provided through the support process.

Changes to fees

Kivvo may change its fees and pricing from time to time. When we do:

We'll update this page.

We'll notify you in advance of any change that affects fees you're currently paying or subscriptions you're currently on.

Where a change affects a scheduled contribution, we'll give you the opportunity to review and change your schedule before the new fees apply.

We won't apply a fee change retroactively.
