How it works
Updated 5 October 2026
Saving starts with a goal.
Kivvo gives you a simple place to plan what you want to save for, put money toward it, and watch your progress build.
The short version
- Kivvo is a goal-based savings app. You set goals, contribute toward them, and follow your progress.
- You can set a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly contribution schedule — whatever fits your budget.
- Kivvo doesn't move or hold your money. Funds are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. Kivvo never takes custody of your funds.
- Cashback is currently limited to Kivvo+ members who also meet a minimum contribution threshold and maintain a 6.5-week streak. It is not available to all users yet.
- Kivvo is not a bank, not a wallet, and not an investment platform. See our Financial Services Disclosures for detail.
How Kivvo works, step by step
1. Choose a goal
Decide what you want to save for. A trip, a laptop, a deposit, a gift, a buffer — anything that matters to you.
Give it a name, set a target amount, and (optionally) a target date. You can always edit these later.
2. Make a savings plan
Choose a contribution amount and schedule that fits your budget. You can contribute:
- Weekly — minimum $50 per week
- Fortnightly (bi-weekly) — minimum $100 every two weeks
- Monthly — minimum $200 per month
- One-off — $10 per day, whenever you want to add extra
You can adjust your plan as life changes.
3. Contribute toward your goal
Kivvo initiates contributions through our payment provider, Stripe. Funds flow from your linked payment method toward your goal.
Kivvo doesn't hold your money. Funds are handled by Stripe under their terms. Kivvo never takes custody of your funds.
A contribution fee applies to each contribution. The exact amount is shown before you confirm a payment.
4. Follow your progress
See how much you've saved and how far you are from your goal. Kivvo shows:
- Amount saved vs. target
- Percentage complete
- Contribution history
- Estimated completion pace
- Any streak progress
5. Cashback (for eligible Kivvo+ members)
Cashback is a reward for consistent saving. It is currently limited to Kivvo+ members who also meet a minimum contribution threshold and maintain a 6.5-week contribution streak.
Cashback is credited to your Kivvo account at the end of a payout period, subject to eligibility. It is not available to all users yet.
See our Payouts Policy for full details.
Kivvo is, and Kivvo isn't
Kivvo is:
- A goal-based savings app
- A tool for planning contributions and tracking progress
- A service that helps you stay consistent with your saving
Kivvo isn't:
- A bank, wallet, or deposit-taking institution
- An investment platform
- A financial adviser
- A service that holds your money
Funds are handled by our payment processor (Stripe), not held by Kivvo. Your balance does not earn interest. Our tools are not financial advice.

Your savings, step by step
Set a goal
Choose something meaningful, name it, and set an optional target amount and date. See Savings Goals for the walkthrough.
Choose a pace
Plan a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly contribution that works for your budget. You can change your plan at any time — the new schedule applies from the next contribution.
Track progress
Kivvo records contributions and shows your progress, history, streaks, and estimated completion pace in one place.
Reach your target
When you reach your goal, you decide what happens next. Kivvo doesn't purchase or ship items for you. What you do with the money once you've saved it is up to you.
Cashback and fees
Cashback is currently limited to Kivvo+ members who meet a minimum monthly contribution threshold and maintain a 6.5-week contribution streak. It is not available to all users yet. Payout amounts, timing, and eligibility may change before general release.
See our Payouts Policy for how cashback works, and use the Payouts Calculator to explore what a payout could look like.
Fees are shown before you confirm a payment. Kivvo's current contribution fee is:
- $2.00 flat fee per contribution, plus
- 8% of the contribution amount, capped at $15.00
Kivvo does not charge interest on balances. See our Fees & Charges for full details.
How money and account data are handled
Kivvo is not a bank and does not provide financial advice.
- Payment and card details are handled by our payment provider. Kivvo does not display or store your full card details.
- Bank payments use Stripe BECS Direct Debit, when that setup is available.
- Kivvo does not take custody of your funds. Funds are held and moved by Stripe under their terms.
For more detail, see our Security, Trust & Safety, and Bank Payments & Cards pages.
