PAYOUTS HELP
Help with Payouts
This page is for users who are having trouble with Kivvo Payouts — the cashback feature that rewards consistent saving. If something isn't working the way you expected, this page will help you work out what's going on and what to do next.
The short version
- Kivvo Payouts is a cashback feature that is currently limited to users who meet strict eligibility criteria.
- To unlock Kivvo Payouts, you need an active Kivvo+ membership, a verified authenticator, at least $4,800 contributed in the rolling 52 weeks, and a 15-week saving streak.
- What counts as "a week" depends on your contribution schedule. Weekly contributors have a week to contribute. Bi-weekly contributors have two weeks. Monthly contributors have a month. All schedules are measured against the same 6.5-week payout period.
- Most payout issues come down to one of those four requirements.
- You can see your eligibility and progress on the Kivvo Payouts page in your account.
- If something still doesn't look right, submit a support ticket via the Support page.
First: are you eligible?
Kivvo Payouts is not available to all users. To unlock it, you must meet all four requirements:
| Requirement | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active Kivvo+ membership | Your Kivvo+ membership must be active. |
| Verified authenticator | Link and verify an authenticator app in Settings. |
| $4,800 in 52 weeks | Your qualifying contributions total at least $4,800 in the rolling 52-week window. |
| 15-week saving streak | Meet your weekly contribution target for 15 consecutive full saving weeks. |
If any one of these is missing, Kivvo Payouts remains locked. You can see your progress on the Kivvo Payouts page in your account.
Contribution pace toward $4,800
Your qualifying contributions need to total $4,800 in the rolling 52-week window. These steady schedules are examples that reach the target:
| Schedule | Suggested contribution | Approximate time to $4,800 |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly | $100 | 48 weeks |
| Fortnightly | $200 | 48 weeks |
| Monthly | $400 | 12 months |
These are suggested contribution paces, not separate eligibility thresholds. Contributions are counted in the rolling 52-week window; older contributions stop counting after 52 weeks.
The 6.5-week payout period
The payout period is 6.5 weeks for Kivvo+ members. What this means depends on your contribution schedule:
| Your schedule | Contributions needed in the 6.5-week period |
|---|---|
| Weekly | 7 qualifying contributions |
| Bi-weekly | 4 qualifying contributions |
| Monthly | 2 qualifying contributions |
A "qualifying contribution" means:
- It's made on time (within the expected window for your schedule),
- It meets the minimum for your schedule,
- It's successfully processed (not failed, reversed, or cancelled),
- It's a scheduled contribution (one-off contributions don't count toward the streak).
If any expected contribution in the period is missing or fails, the streak breaks for that period. You can start a new streak and become eligible for future periods.
Common issues and what to do
"I'm not seeing cashback, but I think I should be"
The most common reasons users don't see cashback when they expect to:
- Your Kivvo+ subscription lapsed or was cancelled during the period. Check your Kivvo+ status in Settings.
- Your contributions fell below the minimum for your schedule for one or more contribution periods. Check your contribution history for the period.
- Your streak was broken. A missing, failed, or reversed contribution breaks the streak for that period.
- The payout period hasn't closed yet. Cashback is credited at the end of the period, not during it. Check your Kivvo Payouts page for when your current period ends.
If none of these apply and you still think there's an issue, submit a support ticket.
"My streak broke, and I don't know why"
A streak breaks when an expected contribution in the payout period is missing, failed, or reversed. Common causes:
- A contribution failed — card declined, insufficient funds, bank mandate cancelled.
- A contribution was reversed — for example, a chargeback from your card issuer.
- Your schedule was paused — paused schedules don't generate contributions.
- Your schedule changed mid-period — for example, switching from weekly to monthly may leave a gap that counts as a missed contribution.
- You missed a scheduled contribution — for example, you skipped a week without pausing your schedule.
- You changed the contribution amount to below the minimum for your schedule.
Check your contribution history for the affected period to see exactly which contributions were processed and which weren't. Your contribution history is available in the Contributions area of your account, and can be downloaded as PDF from Data Requests.
"My cashback amount looks wrong"
Cashback is calculated from the contribution fees Kivvo has earned from your qualifying contributions during the payout period, multiplied by the cashback rate applicable to your plan.
If the amount looks wrong, check:
- Which contributions counted toward the cashback — only successfully processed contributions count. Failed, reversed, or cancelled contributions don't.
- Your plan at the time of each contribution — your cashback rate depends on your plan.
- The fees you paid — cashback is calculated from fees, not from contribution amounts.
If after checking these things the amount still looks wrong, submit a support ticket with the specific period you're looking at, and we'll investigate.
"My cashback was credited but I don't see it in my goals"
When cashback is credited, it goes to one of two places depending on your payout settings:
- Your Kivvo Saver pool (default) — where it stays as unallocated balance until you allocate it to goals.
- Your goals directly — if you've set up payout distribution.
If you don't see it in your goals, check your Kivvo Saver pool balance. It may be sitting there as unallocated.
"I didn't receive a payout for a period I was eligible for"
If you believe you were eligible for a payout period and didn't receive one:
- Check your eligibility for that period on the Kivvo Payouts page.
- Check your contribution history for the period to make sure every expected contribution was made.
- Check your Kivvo+ subscription status for the period.
- If everything looks correct and you still don't see a payout, submit a support ticket with the period dates and we'll investigate.
"My Kivvo+ subscription failed to renew, and I lost eligibility"
If your Kivvo+ payment fails and your subscription is paused or cancelled, you lose eligibility for that payout period. You can:
- Update your payment method in Settings.
- Reactivate your Kivvo+ subscription once your payment method is working.
- Start a new streak — you can become eligible for future payout periods even if you missed one.
If your payment method failed because of a technical issue on our side, tell us via a support ticket.
"I cancelled Kivvo+ but want to know if I still get a payout"
If you cancel Kivvo+ but your subscription remains active until the end of your paid period, you're still eligible for payouts during that period (subject to the other requirements).
Once your Kivvo+ subscription actually ends, you lose eligibility for future periods. You can resubscribe at any time.
"I think there's a bug in Kivvo Payouts"
If you've checked everything above and you believe you've found a bug in Kivvo Payouts, please submit a support ticket with:
- A clear description of what happened
- The payout period involved
- What you expected to happen
- What actually happened
- Any screenshots or references that help
We take bugs seriously, especially in cashback calculations.
Understanding your Kivvo Payouts page
Your Kivvo Payouts page is the best place to see what's going on. It shows:
- Your current payout period — when it started and when it ends.
- Your current streak status — how many qualifying contributions you have for the period.
- Your eligibility status — whether you currently meet all four requirements.
- Your progress — how close you are to eligibility if you're not yet there.
- Past payout periods — how each one went, including whether a payout was credited and if not, why.
If something on this page doesn't match your understanding, tell us.
How payout timing works
Payout periods are 6.5 weeks for Kivvo+ members. Here's the timing:
- The payout period starts when your contribution streak begins.
- You make contributions throughout the period — every expected contribution for your schedule must be made on time.
- The period ends 6.5 weeks later.
- Kivvo reviews your eligibility for the period.
- If you're eligible, cashback is credited to your Kivvo account (into your Saver pool or goals, depending on your settings).
- If you're not eligible, no cashback is credited for that period. The reason is recorded on your Kivvo Payouts page.
Cashback is not credited until the end of the period. During the period, you can see your progress but not the payout amount, because it depends on what fees you've paid during the full period.
What cashback is and isn't
To be clear about what you're receiving:
- Cashback is a reward for consistent saving. It's funded from Kivvo's fee revenue.
- Cashback is not interest. It doesn't accrue over time. It's calculated based on the fees you've paid in the payout period.
- Cashback is not a return on an investment. Kivvo doesn't offer investments.
- Cashback is not guaranteed. You only receive it if you meet all four eligibility criteria for a payout period.
For a fuller description, see our Payouts Policy.
Payouts and tax
Cashback may be treated as income for tax purposes. Kivvo doesn't withhold tax. You're responsible for meeting your own tax obligations.
You can download your contribution and payout history from the Data Requests area of your account to support your own records.
